O.R.B scooped the Song of the Year while the coveted Album of the Year prize went to Villagers.

Vicar Street was the venue tonight for the 2013 Meteor Choice Music Prize and the judges had the unenviable task of whittling the 10 nominees in each category down to just one.

In the Song of the Year award, O.R.B (formerly Original Rudeboys), won for “Never Gonna Walk Away”, beating off the likes of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” and Villagers “Nothing Arrived”.

But the big gong of the night, the Album of the Year, went to Villagers for Awayland.

With Bell XI, Kodaline and O Emperor also up for the prize, it is a massive win for the Dublin band, who were also nominated for their previous album, Becoming A Jackal, in 2011.
