Liam Gallagher stuck to his word and beat brother Noel in weirdest musical instrument competition

Peeling a potato to spite the man he calls potato.

All your dreams are made when you’re chained to the mirror and a potato peeler blade.

Noel Gallagher made headlines last week when he appeared on Later… with Jools Holland on BBC Two with his band to play some tunes from his new album.

The main talking point was the fact that Gallagher seemed to have employed one of his band members to play scissors into a microphone on stage.

During his song, ‘She Taught Me How To Fly’, there was a girl in the background playing a blue pair of scissors but did it add anything to the sound or was it just there for appearance? You can decide for yourself…

As you can imagine, the incident didn’t go down well with brother Liam who thought that brother Noel needed to have a long, hard look at himself.

“I find that a bit strange, the scissor thing, do you know what I mean? It’s like, it’s all right if you’re twenty and off your head on mushrooms and that, but the guy’s 50 now man, you know what I mean? And if he really is trying to convince people that playing scissors is the right way to go about business he needs to have a big, long lie down man,” he said in an interview with Greg James on BBC Radio 1.

Gallagher junior then went on to joke that he would have someone sharpening a pencil or filling in a sticker book at his next concert stating “it sounds mega with a bit of reverb on it proper out there gear.”

He took to Twitter on Tuesday night to look for someone to peel some spuds live on stage during his gig in Bethnal Green but there was one exception, you needed to have your own peeler.

For a moment, we thought we might have had a mini-Oasis reunion as Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs got in touch with Gallagher saying he was ready to do it and even had his own peeler in tow.

Sadly, Bonehead didn’t make a potato peeling appearance at the gig but someone else did, we think Liam has won this particular sibling battle.

Let there be spuds.
