Full details of the 16th season of Other Voices have been released

RTÉ has announced another ten week run of the brilliant Other Voices series.

Music lovers around the country will be buzzing about this. The hugely popular Other Voices will begin its sixteenth series on February 22. The ten-week run will be going out every Thursday evening at 11.15 on RTÉ2.  It will also be available to watch live and on-demand on RTÉ Player.

The series will be littered with the most compelling performances and interviews. All captured during its three-day celebration of the best Irish and international music in Dingle, Co Kerry last December.

Other Voices

Highlights include pure pop brilliance as Sigrid (winner of BBC Sound 2018) performs ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ and ‘Strangers’ on Irish soil for the first time.

The incredible Perfume Genius (pic above) delivers a tender and transcendental performance full of love and devotion performing ‘Queen’ and ‘Wreath’ in St. James’ Church.

Also, having previously performed at Other Voices with Hozier, Wyvern Lingo step out on their own to perform ‘I Love You Sadie’, shortlisted for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize – Irish Song of The Year.

Other Voices

Viewers can look forward to fantastic performances from Django Django (pic above), Dermot Kennedy, Loyle Carner, Lankum, Mount Kimbie and Aine Cahill to name but a few.

Building on the longstanding, two-way cultural conversation between Germany and Ireland, there are significant developments. As Other Voices also held an inaugural event in Berlin featuring performances from New Jackson, Talos, Tom Adams, Soulé and The Gloaming’s Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh among others.

Heading up North, from the beautiful Duncairn Centre, Other Voices Belfast brings yet more music. Picture This, Rosie Carney and the incredible Touts will all feature. The presenters, Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and May Kay chat to Other Voices artists about their lives and work.

Music fans will be frothing at the mouth ahead of the new series. It is consistently one of the best music shows on television these days. Roll on 22 February.
