A decision has finally been made on his scheduled five night appearance in Dublin…
The GAA have confirmed that the Gareth Brooks concerts on the July 28th and July 29th have been cancelled after Dublin City Council did not grant permission for them to go ahead. The concerts on the 25th, 26th and 27th will go ahead as planned.
A licence has been granted for just three of the five Garth Brooks’ Croke Park gigs in GAA headquarters at the end of this month and suggestions that the cancelled concerts could be moved to another venue, such as the Aviva Stadium, have been dismissed so far.
There is major opposition to the gigs from people living near the stadiums because a written agreement in 2009 stated that Croker would stage no more than three concerts each year, and One Direction have already played there three times this year.
More to follow…
Garth Brooks should have made some friends in higher places.
