Pic: A fair old crowd gathered to watch Passenger do a spot of busking on Grafton Street today

His biggest hit has garnered nearly 60 million views on YouTube, so it was no surprise that quite a crowd gathered when Mike Rosenberg, AKA Passenger, did a spot of busking on Grafton Street today.

Having played at the Marquee in Cork on Monday night, Passenger was in the big smoke this afternoon and in a big treat for his Irish fans, he posted notices on Twitter and Facebook that he planned to do a spot of busking on the best street in Ireland to do a spot of busking around noon this afternoon.

Judging by the picture sent into us on Twitter by Brian McDonald, the fans certainly got the message and if the sea of smart phones are anything to go by, it seems as if we won’t have to wait long for video footage either.

By knocking out a few tunes on his guitar this afternoon, Passenger joined a long line of famous musicians who have busked on Grafton Street over the years, although we’d say he would have been able to do without the few coppers thrown into his guitar case by passers-by.

Hat-tip to Brian McDonald for sending this into us. Brian is now in with a shot of winning €250 by the end of the month.
