PIC: “No one does it like the Irish.” Noel Gallagher hails fans after Electric Picnic gig

Not even a fu**ed up ‘Champagne Supernova’ could put a dampener on Noel’s performance.

Things didn’t go entirely according to plan for Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds during their performance on the main stage at Electric Picnic on Saturday night.

Noel will admit himself that he’s performed better versions of ‘Champagne Supernova’ but he didn’t let it get him down and, as he said himself, “I’m in charge, I get to fuck it up”.

‘Champagne Supernova’ wasn’t the only Oasis classic performed by Noel and the band on the night; he also treated the crowd to ‘Wonderwall’, which, not surprisingly, went down a storm.

The crowd lapped up the show and Noel appeared to thoroughly enjoy himself, posting a tribute to the fans on Instagram alongside a picture of his wife, Sara McDonald, this morning.

We’ll let him off the hook for using the Ivory Coast flag.

And look at all the chocolate goodies at the bottom left of the picture, Noel still knows how to rock and roll alright.
