PIC: The famous King Puck statue in Killorglin turns purple in tribute to Prince

Conor Heneghan

Fitting, considering that Prince is the GOAT (Greatest of all time).

The world paid tribute to Prince over the weekend following news of his sad passing on Thursday.

Of all the tributes paid to Prince, Bruce Springsteen’s wonderful performance of Purple Rain was perhaps the most powerful of all, but there was an equally powerful one paid in a little corner of west Kerry where the famous Puck Fair takes place every year.

Preparations are well underway for the K-Fest Music and Arts Festival in Killorglin in June, but the crew took time out to pay tribute to one of the world’s most influential musicians by turning the town’s famous statue from bronze to purple as the King bade farewell to the Prince.

A lovely touch.
