Pic: This shot from the crowd at The Who’s Dublin gig suggests Ireland has finally reached full hipster

Where would you get it?

Conor Heneghan

It’s taken a while, but we’ve finally got there.

Dublin has been showcasing its credentials as one of the hipster capitals of Europe for some time now.

Sure you can barely walk down the street without seeing a fixie bike, a meticulously untidy beard or a café selling quinoa and kale-filled baguettes to beat the band.

All before they were considered cool elsewhere of course… or, you know, whatever.

A picture from The Who’s gig at the 3Arena last night suggests that Dublin may have reached its peak as far as hipsterdom is concerned, however.

I mean, how hipster do you have to be to fork out a considerable sum of money for a ticket to the veteran rockers and then ignore the music and read a book instead?

Pretty damn hipster, we’d suggest.

And how could we forget the stripey t-shirt?

We can’t see the book from here, of course, but if we were to guess, we’d say it was Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, third-hand paperback edition.
