This might surprise you…

Here at JOE Towers we’re always on the cutting edge of technology; therefore we are constantly thinking of updating our music system.

Out goes the wind-up gramophone and in comes this thing called an Eye-Pod or whatever it is. In all seriousness, we still get nostalgic memories when thinking about our collection of early 90s mixed tapes. Does anyone else remember the frustration when you were tying to record a song off the radio and the DJ kept speaking over the intro?

After a quick Q&A with the lads here at JOE Towers we can reveal the first cassette albums that we all bought.  It’s a pretty impressive list that includes REM – Automatic for the People, Oasis – Definitely Maybe, Michael Jackson – Bad and U2 – The Unforgettable Fire. Not too shabby at all.

Then again, one of the first singles that an unnamed writer bought was Diana King – Shy Guy. Tuuuuuune.

This very cool  infographic shows the evolution of how people consume music from vinyl LPs all the way to the modern era of digital downloads.

30 years in 30 seconds. Take a look….
