He truly inspired various generations.
It seems that pretty much every noteworthy musician over the last half century have been left deeply impacted by the death of David Bowie.
Tributes have been coming in thick and fast, while Ricky Gervais took a moment fresh off the back of the Golden Globes and Roddy Doyle paid a typically inimitable homage to the legendary singer.
Now, Irish sensation Hozier has paid his respects, and it’s clear how big an influence Bowie was on the Bray man’s career.

He’s not the only Irish talent getting his word out there, with Kodaline and The Script tweeting about their shock after the announcement.

While it’s great to see how the current generation are so in awe of the Londoner’s talent, Bowie’s peers from his younger days are also talking about what it’s like to lose a great friend.
Iggy Pop’s tweet shows just how close the two were.

The Rolling Stones are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the death of our dear friend David Bowie. As well as being a wonderful and kind man, he was an extraordinary artist, and a true original.
