U2 are the biggest band to ever come out of Ireland, by far.
They sold out Croke Park for the 30th anniversary of the Joshua Tree gig in record time and, like them or loathe them, they have had more number one songs in Ireland than any other act in the history of the charts.
They actually had 21 number one singles, but, as it was a collaborative performance, we won’t count ‘The Ballad Of Ronnie Drew’ as one of them here.
