The lads are currently working away on their 9th album.

With Thom Yorke having a million and one projects on the go and Jonny Greenwood slowly becoming the go to guy for most fantastic Hollywood soundtracks we were wondering if Radiohead would ever get back in the studio.

Well, we’re delighted to hear that Oxford’s finest are back doing what they do best.

In a new interview with BBC Radio 1, guitarist Greenwood said that the band is “playing and recording.” He added that the album is still in its formative shape and that they don’t know what direction it could take.

“I always feel as when we start up like we still don’t know really how to do it, and we don’t know quite what to do. ‘Looking down avenues’ is a very kind way of putting the kind of fumbling that we do, mainly because every time we try and do it like the last time because that worked, it never seems to work. So we talk about different approaches and we’re currently trying a bunch out.”

To be honest we don’t care if Radiohead decide to mix Senegalese crunkcore with Norwegian epic doom metal because we know that it’s going to be class.

Any excuse really…
