They are the first act to confirm that they will be playing at the festival.

Rage Against the Machine have announced that they will be playing at Electric Picnic in 2020.

The bang announced a lengthy list of tour dates that will see them travel around the world throughout the year.

And one of the stops that they’re going to make is Stradbally, Laois on 4 September.

Massive news for any Irish fans of the iconic band.

They will be going on a seven-month run, which kicks off in March in Texas, and will continue until it ends in Vienna in September.

It marks the first time the iconic LA band has toured together since 2011.

EP confirmed the news on Monday night:

As is often the case with the gigantic festival, tickets for Electric Picnic have already sold out. This comes despite the fact that capacity was increased this year.

The band has also confirmed that through ticketing, volunteering and band donations, they will be working with multiple charities and activist organisations throughout the tour.

In addition, 100% of all proceeds from their El Paso, Las Cruces and Phoenix concerts will go to immigrant rights organisations. Sound lads.
