REPORT: Eagles of Death Metal will return to Paris and perform at U2’s concert this weekend

It could be a very emotional night

It could be a very emotional night.

Less than a month after the horrific shootings at the Bataclan which claimed the lives of 89 people, Eagles of Death Metal look set to return to Paris but they won’t be on their own.

According to reports in Billboard, the band will join U2 on stage during their upcoming concert at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena on Sunday. As of yet, the appearance is unannounced but EODM have previously stated – in this harrowing interview – that they want to be the first band to play the Bataclan when it reopens.

If these reports are to be believed then they might be playing in Paris sooner than expected. A famous original band member is also being mooted for an appearance because Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme is expected to join the band on stage for what’s believed to be a duet with U2 which will be the final song of the evening.

As you may know, U2 were originally scheduled to play in Paris on Nov 14 and 15 but these dates were rescheduled after the attacks.

Like many people in the music industry, Bono and his bandmates were very supportive of Eagles of Death Metal in the aftermath of the tragic shootings with U2 buying EODM new phones and offering them the use of their plane.

Billboard also reports that Eagles of Death Metal will resume their European tour in February 2016.
