Ric Ocasek, lead singer of The Cars, has died

Rest in peace, Ric Ocasek.

Ric Ocasek, lead singer and songwriter of legendary rock band The Cars, has died at the age of 75. Police found the musician at his home in New York on Sunday and no cause of death has been published.

Ocasek was responsible for some of the biggest hits of the 1970s and 1980s, including ‘Just What I Needed’, ‘You Might Think’, ‘My Best Friend’s Girl’, ‘Good Times Roll’ and ‘You’re All I Got Tonight’.

The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April of last year.

Ocasek also produced several successful albums, such as Weezer’s debut Blue Album and the subsequent Green Album.
