Scott Walker has died at the age of 76

Musician and singer-songwriter Scott Walker has died at the age of 76.

Famous for his solo career as well as his role as one half of The Walker Brothers, he will be remembered for such number one hits as ‘Make It Easy On Yourself’ and ‘The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine (Anymore)’.

He was born Noel Scott Engel in the United States, before moving to the United Kingdom, where he found his success.

Walker’s record label 4AD confirmed the sad news on Monday morning, writing: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Scott Walker. Scott was 76 years old and is survived by his daughter, Lee, his granddaughter, Emmi-Lee, and his partner Beverly.”

Walker had been most active in the 1960s, but continued to release new music until his death.
