Screaming at Radiohead gigs and fighting ducks: JOE spins the Tombola of Truth with The Vaccines

One of our favourite bands

Joe Harrington

“I don’t remember much about it except repeatedly shouting that everything else was utter bollocks in comparison.”

The next person to take on JOE’s Tombola of Truth is The Vaccines’ drummer Pete Robertson.

The band’s new album English Graffiti is out now (buy here) and they play in Ireland this summer at Longitude on Friday, July 17.

You know the score at this stage – 50 balls, 50 questions, one fearsome Tombola of Truth.

Tombola-JOE

JOE: Best music gig you’ve ever been to?

The Vaccines: Radiohead, Coachella 2013. I don’t remember much about it except repeatedly shouting that everything else was utter bollocks in comparison.

JOE: If you could change one law, what would it be?

The Vaccines: No profits in the NHS!

JOE:  Takeaways – Chinese or Indian?

The Vaccines: Indian.

Vaccines in Session for Absolute Radio

JOE: Who would play you in your biopic?

The Vaccines: Harrison Ford, Patriot Games era.

JOE: Give us a film you’ve seen more than once.

The Vaccines: 2001 a space odyssey

JOE: What person, dead or alive, would you like to go for a pint with?

The Vaccines: Miles Davis. But I think I’d need some sort of protection.

Lollapalooza 2013 - Day 3

JOE: If you could send one person to the moon, who would it be?

The Vaccines: George Osborne. May he reside there for all eternity. Living off food banks. Understocked food banks.

JOE: What is your idea of heaven?

The Vaccines: The Biblioteca de Cataluña in Barcelona

JOE: When was the last time you cried?

The Vaccines: Monday. I’m an emotional guy.

Hate Monday

JOE: The age-old dilemma – would you rather fight one hundred duck-sized horses or one horse-sized duck?

The Vaccines: 100 duck sized horses. Easy. I’d need appropriate footwear though.

JOE: Ever been involved in a pub fight?

The Vaccines: No

JOE: Who was your first crush?

The Vaccines: Dana Scully. She made me feel weird.
