JOE’s Song Of The Day #827 – Sean OB ‘Two Last Cans’

Dave Hanratty

Sean OB JOE Song Of The Day

A heartbreak anthem that punches through.

Dublin troubadour Sean O’Brien aka Sean OB is back with another kitchen sink dramedy.

As the title intimates, ‘Two Last Cans’ presents something of a glass-half-empty tale, centred on a difficult break-up that shook its author to his very core.

Formerly of Raglans, O’Brien is very much walking his own path these days, having released debut EP Half Cut in 2018. ‘Two Last Cans’ is the first shot of bittersweetness from upcoming EP Cigarettes & Perfume, which arrives later this year.

Before that, you can catch him live Upstairs at Whelan’s, Dublin on Wednesday 4 September.

“I don’t think I’ve ever truly recovered from the breakup,” he says.

“It sent me on a long harrowing spiral. I’m not exactly sure, but I think it’s about learning how to live with regret and let go of things that you can’t take back or change no matter how much they fuck with your head.”
