Seven bands that have stood the test of time

JOE

Rock around the clock!

while their songs will always sound good, it’s a simple fact of life that musicians get old. There are artists that manage to stick around for a generation. While some are eternal in their coolness, others are only around for a short time (we’re looking at you, Cheeky Girls).

Then there a select few bands that are able to consistently produce genre-defining music throughout multiple decades. Although they have gone through roster changes, appearance overhauls, and sound shifts, they remain unfailingly entertaining, proving that good taste is timeless.

We have teamed up with Coca-Cola to showcase a special gallery of musicians that are as great now as they were in days gone by. Take a look at the bright, young upstarts of the past and slide to see the modern legends that they became!

Aerosmith

Steven Tyler’s voice is as dependable now as it was 30 years ago. They’re a sure bet to sell out just about any arena all over the world, and there aren’t many bands that have stood up so well.

The Killers

It might not feel like it, but The Killers have been around for nearly 20 years. The US band was formed back in 2001, and it’s impressive how they’ve managed to stay looking as cool now as they did back then.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

We’re pretty sure Anthony Kiedis found the Fountain of Youth. Hard to believe he’s turning 56 this year, as he’s still as absolutely bonkers on stage as he was in the 90s.

Foo Fighters

Not only is he one of the most popular frontmen in music, but he’s also one of the best. Foo Fighters is a band that’s been around for a long time, and they’re not showing any signs of slowing down.

Sex Pistols

It might not have always been an easy road for The Sex Pistols, but they remain an icon to people who grew up listening to their incomparable music style.

The Strokes

If Anthony Kiedis found the fountain of youth, he brought The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas with him. He’s been around for 20 years at this stage, but is still as cool as ever.

The Rolling Stones

Possibly the only band on earth that can fill up Croke Park over 50 years after the band first started. There really isn’t much point in comparing them to other bands, they are in a league of their own and always will be.

There’s no better brand to define enduring oomph and timeless taste than Coca-Cola. Whether it’s Original Coke or Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, classic or contemporary, Coca-Cola has brought it’s characteristic taste to generations of people. No matter which style you prefer, you can’t go wrong.
