Shaggy warns fans of an online imposter that’s pretending to be him

Shaggy

It Wasn’t Me.

But we thought it’s your official profile (It wasn’t me)
Saw me bangin’ on about some freebies  (It wasn’t me)
I even read it in the shower (It wasn’t me)
She even caught me out on camera (It wasn’t me)

In a rather odd but still illegal turn of events, Shaggy has issued a warning to his fans after an online fraudster that was pretending to be him was found trying to defraud his fans.

Basically, it wasn’t he/me.

Taking to Instagram. Mr. Bombastic has warned his fans not to fall for an online con that’s doing the rounds.

“It has come to my attention that there have been posts online from people purporting to be me and hitting up my fans for money while making false claims that they owe me something. I would like to make it clear that these are nothing more than an internet scam,” he said.

The ‘Angel’ and ‘Oh Carolina’ singer said that his fans should not interact with these fake accounts because they do not represent him in any way.

“They are not from me nor do they represent me in any way. It saddens me that this has become our reality and that innocent people are being dragged in to this ridiculousness. My best advice is to please not engage with these fake accounts. Thank you. One love to all my wonderful fans.”

On a serious note, we really hope that nobody was defrauded out of their cash.

On a lighter note, some headlines just write themselves!
