X-Factor

Fair play. You might already know him though.

If you’re one of the people that are tuned into the X-Factor – yep, there are still people who religiously watch the show – you might have recognised the familiar face and voice of singer Brendan Murray.

The Galwegian previously represented Ireland at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest and as a new season of  The X Factor begins, Brendan was one of the many people that was trying to impress the judges.

With a new panel of Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Louis Tomlinson casting a critical eye over the proceedings, Brendan opted to sing This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush.

At the start, it appeared that Brendan’s nerves got the best of him as he took a few minutes to find his rhythm. Thankfully, Simon Cowell offered him a glass of water and some comforting advice.

After stumbling again, Cowell then instructed the Irishman to just sing the lyrics from the sheet that he had in his pocket and Brendan didn’t disappoint.

Take a look as he delivers a performance that got a standing ovation from all of the judges.

Good for him.

After receiving four standing ovations, Brendan’s performance was all that people could talk about.
