The six acts you absolutely have to see at Longitude 2018

Rudi Kinsella

Longitude 2018

If you’re heading this weekend, you won’t want to miss anybody here.

Longitude 2018 is nearly upon us, and the line-up is an absolute doozy.

But it’s so damn good that you might be thinking about who you’re going to see.

Normally at a festival you just go to the ones that you’ve heard of, but with a line-up like this, you’ve probably heard of basically everyone.

Well if you are feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the quality of it all, we’ve compiled this list of the six acts that you absolutely have to see.

We’ve already covered all of the Irish acts that you have to see, so none of them will be featured on this list, but you should definitely read that article here, and you should definitely go and see all of them.

You won’t regret it.

But on to the big dogs we go.

J. Cole

J. Cole is the main event on the Friday, and there’s a damn good reason why.

Not only is he one of the most popular rappers in the world, but he puts on a show.

Just take a look at his performance of ‘A Tale of 2 Cities’ in Michigan.

Jesus Christ. We nearly took flight when around 1.30 in, and that’s from watching it on a laptop.

This one won’t be for the faint-hearted, but will be class. Don’t miss it.

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals

He might be the least known person on this list, but he shouldn’t be.

Anderson Paak is an extremely talented rapper who should have a PhD in crowd control.

He will most definitely have everyone in Marlay Park eating out of his hands.

Look out for his track ‘Bubblin’, it could be one of the highlights of the weekend.

SZA

Sza is definitely one of the most talented artists on the line-up.

You probably don’t want to be jumping around like a Tasmanian devil for the entirety of the weekend (or maybe you do, you lunatic), so Sza is the perfect act for a bit of a chill out.

Her voice is absolutely gorgeous and the mellow sound will be a well-needed break from the craziness of the rest of the weekend.

Post Malone

We’re gonna go out on a limb and say that Post Malone has the best voice of anyone performing at Longitude.

Seriously.

It’s incredible.

We do have the serious dilemma of choosing between himself and Versatile, but it’s a great problem to have.

Just listen to him.

Travis Scott

Travis Scott is more than just Kylie Jenner’s baby daddy.

He’s also one of the hottest properties in the music industry at the moment.

You should see him just for his performance of Goosebumps alone.

See? Goosebumps is right…

Giggs

Finally we have Giggs. Giggs himself is one of the founding fathers of the now massive grime scene in the UK, and is a huge part of the reason for its success.

His friendship with Drake has put the grime scene on the map outside of the UK.

As a result, his song with Drake, ‘KMT’, will go down as one of the most important grime songs of all time.

And his relationship with Drake is part of the reason why we’re putting him on this list.

There’s a slight chance that he might bring Drake out with him… He did it at Wireless less than a week ago, so who knows?

Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but can you imagine…

And if you’re wondering how the bloody hell you’re going to manage to squeeze all of these amazing talents in, here’s the stage times so you can plan in advance.

Good luck.
