If you’re having serious Electric Picnic FOMO right now, then this is not going to help.
After what seemed like an interminable wait, Electric Picnic finally got underway on Friday and by all accounts, it got off to a cracking start.
Super Furry Animals, the 1975 and the 2FM collaboration with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra (see below) were some of the highlights on Day 1, while the attention of many festival goers was drawn to the headline act on the Main Stage, the Chemical Brothers.
Always an accomplished live act, the dance duo had the crowds dancing in the fields of Stradbally on Friday night and judging by the post-gig reaction of those who were there to witness it, it was a performance for the ages.
Amazing main stage tonight, @ChemBros lighting it up! #EP2016 pic.twitter.com/F8tIpiObwG

One again, apologies to those of you suffering serious EP FOMO right now; at least console yourself with the knowledge that your Sunday night fear isn’t going to be nearly as bad as it will be for thousands of people currently living it up in Laois.
