The nominees for the prestigious Mercury Prize for best UK and Irish album of the year have been announced. The awesome Young Fathers won the award last year and previous winners include Alt-J, Primal Scream, James Blake and The xx. BBC 6 Music presenter Lauren Laverne revealed the list this morning and three Irish artists have made the final 12. Here's the full list: Aphex Twin - Syro (IE) Wolf Alice - My Love is Cool Roisin Murphy - Hairless Toys (IE) C Duncan - Architect Eska - Eska Florence and the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful Ghostpoet - Shedding Skin Benjamin Clementine - At Least for Now Jamie xx - In Colour SOAK - Before We Forgot How to Dream (IE) Gaz Coombes - Matador Slaves - Are You Satisfied? The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on November 20.
