“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”Tina, born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26 in 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee, found fame in the late 1960s as the singer of the band Ike & Turner Revue, alongside her ex-husband Ike Turner, but later went on to become a solo artist. The domestic abuse Ike subjected Tina to was documented in a 1993 Hollywood biopic starring Angela Bassett, which won three Oscars. Her life story was also immortalised in a popular West End show that is still running and she has and has a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the St Louis Walk of Fame. Turner sold more than 180 million albums and won 8 Grammy Awards. Her biggest hits include ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’, ‘Private Dancer’ and ‘The Best’. https://twitter.com/lighttmylove/status/1661444461447053312
