Video: 56 Zambian kids singing ‘Oró, Sé Do Bheatha Bhaile’ at the top of their voices

This is genuinely brilliant

Joe Harrington

One of the best renditions ever.

Oró, Sé Do Bheatha Bhaile is a famous old Irish song that’s been sung by The Dubliners and Sinead O’Connor among others down through the years.

You might have heard it sung down your local pub at some stage because it’s one of the tunes people always pull out at a seisiún.

The version we have here is something very special indeed, here’s Oró, Sé Do Bheatha Bhaile being belted out by 56 school kids in Zambia.

A student, Finbar Burns from Abbey CBS in Newry, captured the footage while on the school’s bi-annual trip to southern Zambia.

He was one of the young people who took part in the The Abbey Zambia Immersion Project.

Finbar told JOE, “The video takes place in Linda Community School. They were a grade 6 primary school class but their ages ranged from 10-17 years old.

“The class had 56 children in it… singing was the only thing that kepy them in their seats, they were really great children and loved to learn.”

It’s absolutely brilliant, well done to all involved.
