Video: Bassist smashes $700 drone out of the air with an expertly-thrown beer can

Maybe he has a fear of flying?

Maybe he has a fear of flying?

Spencer Pollard, bassist for band Trash-Talk, lost the plot when he saw a flying drone camera hovering above the stage, so he expertly knocked it out the air with a can of beer.

The helicopter-like camera was hired to record the band’s performance at the Zumiez Best Foot Forward event at the Michigan Theatre in Detroit, USA on August 11. It seems that Pollard took offence to the aerial device monitoring his actions on the stage and decided that the best course of action was to go all ‘Murica on the drone and take it out.

You can clearly see in the video that he throws a number of objects before he finally gets a direct hit.

Maybe he has been playing too much Call Of Duty, or maybe he had just forgotten to wear his tin foil hat to protect his brain, but we’re not too sure what went through Pollard’s head. The drone operator predictably wasn’t very happy with the incident but he was assured he would be compensated by the organisers of the event.

Nobody was hurt in the incident so all’s well that ends well.

Hat-tip to NME.
