Video: Hozier gives a powerful rendition of Van Morrison’s classic tune Sweet Thing

"Hey, it's me I'm dynamite and I don't know why"

“Hey, it’s me I’m dynamite and I don’t know why”

There are certain albums that JOE feels every Irish person should own of like Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan’s classic Blonde on Blonde or Awake & Breathe by B*witched. The girls really found their voice on that one.

Much like the telephone book, every person should also have a copy of Van Morrison’s classic 1968 Astral Weeks in their home because it’s a timeless classic.

One of our favourite tracks from Van the Man’s seminal album is definitely Sweet Thing and another talented Irish musician has just tried his hand voice at covering it.

One of the JOE’s i.e me, ranks Sweet Thing as one of the greatest tracks ever recorded by an Irish artist so Hozier has some big shoes to fill.

Jeff Buckley famously covered it on his Live at Sin-é album and now it’s the turn of the all conquering Wicklow singer to give it a go.

Have a listen.

If that wasn’t enough of a live fix for all you  Hozier fans then check out his version of the Arctic Monkey’s Do I Wanna Know or you can go and see him live if you prefer.

What about that Van Morrison fella though?
