Ever wondered what rappers make of such classic tunes as ‘World in Motion’ and Andy Cole’s ‘Outstanding’? Here’s your answer

Back in the day, Ice Cube was part of one of the most innovative and formative acts at the beginning of the gangsta rap movement, and although he’s better known to a younger generation for a succession of truly awful family “comedy” movies, he’s well placed to offer a little bit of a critique on rap music thanks to earning plenty of street cred in the past.

Actor/comedian Kevin Hart not so much, but that didn’t stop the two lads from giving their advice to two of the greatest to ever spit in the booth and then score on the field in John Barnes and Andy Cole for their efforts in ‘World in Motion’, ‘The Anfield Rap’ and ‘Outstanding’, three seminal works in British hip-hop history.

The two boys were promoting their new movie Ride Along, and visited TalkSport to shoot the breeze, whereupon they were asked for their opinions, and they weren’t shy about giving them, even if they got seem to get confused between Barnes and Cole.

As Kevin notices though, rapping about football and being a gangsta don’t seem to gel together too well, unless of course you’re Clint ‘Deuce’ Dempsey.
