EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Irish musicians’ perfect Kate Bush cover is just too good to ignore

Paddy McKenna

Every now and then you see/hear a cover so good that you have to share it with absolutely everyone you know.

When we got word that two of our favourite emerging Irish artists, Booka Brass Band and Orla Gartland, were collaborating on a special cover, we were excited to see what was coming down the tracks.

Booka Brass have serious form in this area with last year’s cover of ‘Crazy In Love’ and Orla Gartland blew us away TWICE last year, on her Sunday Sessions recording and at Sunday Sessions’ Live last October in front of jam-packed Whelans.

It’s fair to say that we had high hopes.

Filmed and recorded in Bressie’s Camden Recording Studios, what they’ve conjured up is an absolute beaut of a cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’.

We’re proud to support two outstanding, young Irish talents on JOE and exclusively premiere the video.

Orla will be joining Booka Brass on stage on the last leg of their Irish tour this Wednesday, April 27 in Whelans, Dublin but this show is now completely SOLD OUT.

All is not lost though as the band have just announced that they are playing Vicar Street, Dublin on October 14 and Cork Opera House in this year’s Cork Jazz Festival on October 29, all to coincide with the release of their debut album Chilled Milk later this year.
