VIDEO: Jack L’s version of ‘The Minstrel Boy’ in tribute to 1916 is beautiful

Colm Boohig

Haunting.

The nation is gearing up for its centenary celebration and with songs like this, you’re bound to get into the mood.

Jack L, the Kildare singer-songwriter, has recorded a terrific version of ‘The Minstrel Boy’, originally written by Thomas Moore in remembrance of the 1798 Irish Rebellion, and a favourite during the 1916 Easter Rising itself.

Have a listen here, because it really is a beautiful rendition.
