Irish rock band Kodaline, fresh off their American tour, took time out to visit some of their biggest fans, the little patients in Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.

The boys serenaded the children, doctors and nurses with some of their number 1 hits – much to the children’s delight. This is the second time the band has visited the hospital, having a huge impact on the brave little patients in Temple Street on both occasions. Denise Fitzgerald, CEO Fundraising said, “Words cannot describe what a morale boost it is for our patients for someone like Kodaline to visit them at their bedside, singing the songs they listen to on their iPods. It really does brighten lives and leaves lasting memories.”

Denise continued,“For some of the children in hospital for a long time, music is a lifeline. Its a form of therapy. For the boys to take the time to come in and sing to our staff, parents and kids – it was just magical. The hospital was buzzing after they left.”

Speaking of their visit, Kodaline said, “The biggest thing for us is the devotion of the staff to their patients; they do all that’s in their power to make their patients’ lives a little better. A visit from us is so small compared to the incredible work they manage to do with the resources and limitations they are faced with.”

Fair play lads, fair play indeed!
