VIDEO: Seal stars in the NFL’s fantastic ad about people celebrating the Super Bowl by having sex

And having babies, we should add.

The Superbowl is one of the biggest sporting events in the world every year and there’s probably not an event that can match it from an advertising perspective.

With the number of stoppages during NFL games, there’s plenty of ad breaks thrown into the coverage and brands tend to pull out all the stops (and pay a lot of money), knowing that their ads will be watched by millions.

The NFL themselves have come up with a whopper of their own for the clash between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers at Superbowl 50 this weekend in a spot called ‘Super Bowl Babies’.

The ad starts off with a stat about the rise in births in cities that have won the Superbowl nine months after the event, with choirs made up of said ‘Superbowl babies’ singing a song about it to the tune of Seal’s ‘Kiss From a Rose,’ one of the greatest love songs of all-time.

The idea of a Superbowl ad about conception doesn’t sound that great on the tin, but this one just works.

Well played.
