Video: The Cure release their first song in 6 years and it’s a cover of a Beatles classic

Paul Moore

You say yes, I say no, You say stop and I say go go go…

There are certain musicians/bands that seem to be universally loved regardless of age or musical tastes and The Cure are definitely one of them.

Some of the tunes from the Robert Smith led band like Boys Don’t Cry, The Love Cats and Friday I’m in Love are still frequently played in clubs around Ireland and we’re delighted to see them back performing.

Their cover of The Beatles classic Hello, Goodbye is part of an upcoming 34 song tribute album to salute Sir Paul McCartney.

The list of all-star contributors to the album, entitled The Art of McCartney, is very impressive and includes the following covers;

Things We Said Today – Bob Dylan, Wanderlust – Brian Wilson, Helter Skelter – Roger Daltrey, Live And Let Die – Billy Joel and On The Way – B. B. King to name but a few.

Enough about the other artists on the album, who wants to hear the first song by The Cure in 6 years? McCartney’s son James also features on keyboards and he is the spitting image of his old man.

Enjoy.
