25 years since they started and still fantastic.
Some people might say that this weekend’s ‘golden ticket’ is for the Munster Football final but there’s only one place to be for Irish music fans.
After 25 years, ten albums, thousands of gigs, a few different band members and an Oscar, The Frames returned to the Dublin stage in front of an adoring crowd at Iveagh Gardens and Glen Hansard didn’t disappoint.
Die-hard fans of the band have probably seen them play at Whelans, Witness, Vicar Street, Other Voices and countless performances at Electric Picnic but it’s very unlikely that any previous gig matched the weather in Dublin yesterday.
Here are some of the highlights from their set including a great cover of a Van Morrison classic.
