WATCH: Bruce Springsteen invites 14-year old up on stage to join him for amazing duet

For once, the Boss managed to be upstaged as the star of the show.

As many of you who have been to one or a number of his many incredible concerts in Ireland will know, Bruce Springsteen is an amazing performer to watch in the flesh.

It’s not just his back catalogue of brilliant songs, the Boss always puts on a hell of show and regularly interacts with audiences for performances than can sometimes last for up to four hours.

In Brisbane on Thursday night, Springsteen spotted a 14-year old in the crowd wielding a sign that read: ‘Missed school, in the shit now, can I play Growin’ Up with you?’

The Boss then invited him up on stage to perform the song along with him and it soon became clear that the young man had plenty of musical chops.

According to the Brisbane Times, the teenager in question is Nathan Testa and it wasn’t the first time he’s performed live with Springsteen, having joined him on stage for a version of ‘Waiting on a Sunny Day’ back in 2013.

Nathan wasn’t the only one to enjoy the privilege of sharing a stage with The Boss in Australia over the weekend; at the next gig after Brisbane, in the Hunter Valley on Saturday night, he invited a fan named Bill, who said he had travelled from Point Pleasant in New Jersey in the US for the gig, to play ‘No Surrender’.

Might be worth a shot for a fan to do likewise the next time Bruce rocks up in Ireland, which can’t come soon enough.
