WATCH: Damien Dempsey fan that’s crowdsurfing in his wheelchair is just pure joy

Damien Dempsey

“The two lads to my left lifting me are strangers, we are all just loving life.”

As he frequently does around the Christmas season, Damien Dempsey was back in town as the beloved Dublin crooner performed to a sold-out audience at Vicar Street.

In fact, the Patience and Seize the Day singer was a very busy man this weekend as all three of his gigs at the Dublin venue were sold-out but as a nice Christmas present, Dempsey decided to live stream the most recent gig for those that couldn’t get a ticket.

One man that clearly had an absolute blast at the gig is Graham Merrigan and while some people might know Graham from his What’s The Story? podcast, music lovers will probably know him from a few memorable gigs.

See, Graham is a serial crowd surfer and you may have spotted him and the wheels of his chair (usually up in the air!) at a few gigs down the years.

For example, Graham made a memorable appearance during Christy Moore’s set at Electric Picnic and at Kings of Leon’s gig at Marlay Park.

Speaking about his most recent crowdsurf, he told JOE that: “the atmosphere at Damo was out of the world so I just went for it and the crowd just took me. I dunno how the chair has survived the various surfs! If there’s any engineers want to build me a custom-built crowdsurfing model, call me!”

2018 might be coming to a close but these are some of the best concert scenes that you’ll see all year.

Take a look.

In case you missed Dempsey’s recent gigs, you’ll be pleased to know that he will be playing at Iveagh Gardens on Saturday 6 July and that tickets are already on sale via Ticketmaster.

We reckon it’s going to be very hard to top the scenes that happened last night!
