It's that time of year again.

Christmas. Happiness. Music. Commercialism. Put them all together and you've got the John Lewis Christmas advert Yep, it's time for a major company to cynically cash in tap into the true spirit of Christmas because the John Lewis Christmas advert is finally here and it's all about the Rocketman, Elton John. Dubbed ‘The Boy and the Piano’, the advert is set to the sound of the musician’s first major hit, 'Your Song'. Well, they weren't going to choose 'Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting', were they? The story starts in the present day, showing the 71-year-old playing the tune in his living room. It then works backwards chronologically through his life – from stadium tours to glittering 80s dressing rooms, eventually taking us all the way back the year he was gifted his grandmother’s piano on Christmas morning as a young boy.
