WATCH: Kendrick Lamar takes on the world in the video for his new single ‘Humble.’

Rory Cashin

It was only last week that he dropped ‘The Heart Part IV’ on us without warning, but Kendrick isn’t taking a day off.

He’s back with the first proper single to his upcoming, as-yet-untitled fourth full album, which is reportedly due out just a week from now, on April 7th.

‘Humble.’ sees Lamar tackle everything from religion to the overuse of Photoshop, all the while returning to his message of staying humble.

It doesn’t sound like advice he’s giving himself, though. More aimed at any and all of his rap competitors, likely reminding them to know their place, which in his eyes, is always going to be second place while he’s in the race.

The song was produced by Mike-WILL Made It (probably best known for Beyonce’s ‘Formation’ or Miley Cyrus’ ‘We Can’t Stop’), while the video was directed by Dave Meyers (his music video CV is basically a collection of all your favourite music videos), and he worked with Lamar before for that ‘Pay It Forward‘ PSA they made with Barack Obama.

So here it is. Will this be the start to the album to finally bag him that Grammy?
