Only strengthens the case that the Olympia was not a suitable venue for an artist like her.

Not too long ago, fans were delighted by the fact that Lizzo, one of the biggest pop artists in the world, was coming to Ireland.

Fans were not so delighted, however, when they learned that she was performing in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, meaning that thousands couldn’t get tickets as a result.

And her performance at Monday night’s MTV VMAs only further reinforced the point that an artist like her required a far bigger venue.

Singing her songs ‘Truth Hurts’ and ‘Good As Hell’, Lizzo damn near blew the roof of the place, in a performance that had the entirety of the crowd on their feet.

It’s entertaining, it’s inspiring, and it’s one of the most iconic moments in recent VMA history.

Elsewhere at the awards, Ariana Grande picked up both best artist and song of the summer, while Electric Picnic headliner Billie Eilish received best new artist.

There’s no prizes for guessing what won song of the year. Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus took home the award for ‘Old Town Road’, which has broken all kinds of records over the past couple of months.
