‘Tis the season… for Christmas covers.
Flat Out are no stranger to the JOE audience, having already impressed everyone with their excellent cover of Elbow’s hit single ‘One Day Like This’ back in the summer of 2016.
Another season has rolled around and so has another cover, as the Mayo musicians recently took time out after a gig in Ballina Arts Centre to don some Christmas jumpers, head back to the dressing room (no sign of the brandy glass full of 1000 brown M&M’s) and perform a stripped-back, live acoustic cover of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Christmas’, originally made famous by both the wonderful Judy Garland and ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.
The fab foursome (Ciara O’Donnell, Mark O’Donnell, Brid O’Donnell and Harry Lawlor) are joined here by guitarist Kevin Donnellan, who clearly asked Santa for some tasty finger-picking skills when he was younger.
