Woman goes missing for a week, turns out she was actually at a week-long rave

As you do...

Paul Moore

Got any mates like this?

Ever been out with a friend that just doesn’t know when to stop? Well, it’s very likely that your mate isn’t as bad as this Dutch lady that went missing for a week, only to be found having the time of her life at a Spanish music festival.

Right, let’s start at the beginning.

As Thalissa Van de Lagemaat travelled to Granada, she sadly had her phone and identification stolen and because of this, she last spoke to her parents on October 27.

During that conversation, Thalissa said that she planned to return to the Netherlands on October 31. Grand.

As the days passed, there was still no word from Thalissa. Understandably, her family panicked and launched an appeal to find her, an appeal that shared on the local news and social media.

After coming to her senses and realising that disappearing off the grid wasn’t the best thing to do to her family, Thalissa posted a link to the festival she was attending in Santa Fe, Granada, to her Facebook page to explain her whereabouts.

It goes without saying that her friends and family were a little bit annoyed at her behaviour.

A timely reminder that if you’re at a festival, it’s always a good idea to let people know that you’re alive.

Then again, we all have mates that tend to ‘disappear’ whenever they’re out and about. Does that remind you of anyone in your group? Name and shame, folks. Name and shame.

After all, we’ve all got that one friend.
