It just gets worse for An Taoiseach – Brian Cowen has been announced as the runaway winner in the Gobshite of the Year category in the JOE.ie awards.

More than 10,000 JOE.ie readers voted in the 2010 JOE.ie Men of the Year Awards, which also gauged the poll that celebrates the best of Irish men.

Although most categories were more positive, hailing the best in sport, style, politics, comedy and entertainment, the Offaly man’s only mention was in the ‘Gobshite’ category.

He was up against the likes of creative expenses claimant Senator Ivor Callely and country-wrecking Anglo Irish Bank boss Seánie Fitzpatrick, but neither could dislodge the former Fianna Fáil leader.
