The BBC has been accused of anti-Irish racist stereotyping over a Newsnight report on the UK’s role in the Irish bailout shown last night. Here’s the video.
The Newsnight programme depicted British chancellor George Osborne dancing to traditional music across the Ha'penny bridge and through Irish countryside before ending up outside a Sheebeen.
The tone of the report was also highly critical and condescending with the narrator saying, “The Irish free market dynamo was driven by British lending, and now Britain will be required to do some fixing.â€
Looks like the bailout loans do come at a cost - we have to endure being belittled by the British before they will lend us anything.
