Would you like to buy Michael O’Leary’s taxi?

Billed as the most famous taxi in Ireland, Michael O’Leary’s car is now up for sale.

The Ryanair boss never does his advertising by half, even when it comes to selling his own stuff it seems. After listing all the details of his 2007 Mercedes S-Class he can’t resist calling it ‘Ireland’s most famous taxi’ and mentioning that he was the owner.

The car became notorious when O’Leary purchased a taxi licence in 2003. The practice is legal as O’Leary’s trips are all metered and he is driven by a registered driver. In 2009, O’Leary paid €96,000 for services from the company that runs the taxi company. O’Leary also owns that company though.

Anyway, the car has done almost five years on the road and with 275,000kms on the clock, it shows just what a busy man O’Leary is, even with a daily commute from Mullingar to Dublin.

The automatic car has all the mod-cons you would expect O’Leary to have like heated seats, full leather interior and phone kit but with that mileage, and an NCT due in February next year, it’s yours for just €20,000.

And in case you are wondering there is no mention in the ad of extra charges if you stuff the boot with luggage.
