10 further Covid-19 deaths confirmed, 64 new cases

This brings Ireland’s death toll to a total of 1,543 people.

10 further Covid-19 deaths have been reported, as well as 64 new cases.

The latest figures released from the Department of Health means that Ireland’s death toll is 1,543 people, while we have a total number of 24,112 cases.

Information released on Sunday found that the median age of confirmed cases is 48 years.

As it stands, 7,566 cases are currently associated with healthcare workers.

Monday 18 May will see the beginning of Phase 1 of Ireland’s roadmap to recovery.

Meanwhile, the government is urging everyone to remember the importance of adhering to basic hygiene measures to stop the spread of COVID-19.

These are to:

  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Maintain a 2 metre distance from others where possible
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue
  • Stay at home and self-isolate if you are sick
