Over 1,000 homes without electricity in Galway

ESB have confirmed an electricity outage for almost 2000 customers in Galway.

According to ESB Power Check, the fault has been impacting 1743 customers in the Claregalway area since 8.11 on Monday morning (July 16).

The company has said that they expect the service to return at 9.15am today.

A note published on the ESB Power Check website reads “We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.”

173 customers in Ballymote, Co. Sligo are also currently without electricity, though this is expected to last until midday today.

There are other, smaller outages in Dublin and Donegal, with several dozen customers affected.
