12 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed, no new deaths

The latest figures have been released by the Department of Health.

12 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, while no new deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

There has now been a total of 1,764 Covid-19  related deaths in Ireland.

There has been 25,881 cases of Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland since the beginning of the pandemic.

The HSE has said that it is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 patients being treated in hospital is now at its lowest level since the peak of the virus in Ireland, it was announced on Saturday.
