Shocking news.

14 pupils from Portadown College, Co. Armagh, were attacked in what has been described as an ‘unprovoked assault’ on Sunday 25 October.

The pupils, who were all aged 16 and 17, suffered varying degrees of injury when they came under attack in the city’s Trafford Centre car park.

Inspector Fahar Zaman, of the Greater Manchester Police, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on some young people who were visiting our city. We are working with the Trafford Centre to gather evidence and we are following some positive lines of enquiry to find those responsible.”

Though none of the injuries sustained were critical, one student had to be taken to hospital having suffered a broken elbow.

One of the students has said that his group of friends were confronted by a group from Manchester who instigated a brawl.

The Greater Manchester Police are investigating the incident.
