103 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours, and a further two people have died.

This brings the death toll on the island of Ireland to 101.

The total amount of cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the north is 689.

3,924 cases have now been confirmed between the Republic of Ireland and the north.

Meanwhile, the UK’s death toll has risen by 563 in the past 24 hours, representing its biggest single-day increase thus far.

The UK Department of Health announced on Wednesday afternoon that its death toll has now risen to 2,352.

A total of 29,474 have now tested positive for coronavirus across the UK, with more than 150,000 tests having been carried out.

An update on the situation in the Republic of Ireland will be issued on Wednesday evening.
